Collaborating Researchers

A number of researchers–primarily based overseas–have collaborated with us on research activities, including presenting in symposia and conferences, and share similar goals. These researchers include:

  • Hans Pols
    Professor in the School of History and Philosophy of Science at Sydney University. His work in collecting materials and researching the history of medicine in the Netherlands East Indies and independent Indonesia includes the wartime years.
  • James T. Collins
    Professor Emeritus of linguistics, currently a Principle Research Fellow at the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), National University of Malaysia. His research into language issues and the dictionaries and lexicography of the wartime era adding an important element to our understandings.
  • Eveline Buchheim
    Researcher at NIOD focusing on the wartime era, in particular on the relationships between Eurasian women and Japanese during the war.
